KINGS HILL CELLARS

Facilities

Kings Hill Cellars provides it members with state of the art winemaking equipment designed for small lot, hand crafted production. These processes have been engineered to be safe, clean and easy to use as well as gentle on the wine with minimum exposure to air.
The crush pad equipment includes a state-of-the-art de-stemmer and crusher that produces minimum MOG (material other than grapes) as well as allows for whole grape fermentation. We use a stainless steel basket press, which delivers the utmost in juice quality and control over the pressing cycle.  Leading winemakers throughout the most modern California wineries laud the benefits and advantages of using the basket press to process their premium wines, and here at Kings Hill we offer you the same equipment as is used at Bond, Vineyard 29 and Napa Reserve.

The wine processing room will be the home of all the fermenters, especially sized to handle your small-lot batches. Racking tanks, inert-gas racking and filtration systems as well as a fully stocked lab all work to help you produce wine of the utmost quality.

The wine cave is temperature and humidity controlled for optimum aging with minimum evaporation.  A mix of premium American and French oak barrels, specially selected by our consultant to reach your sensory goals for your wine with a variety of toasting levels, wall thickness and age of staves will complete the necessary requirements to produce wines equal or better in quality to those produced by leading ultra-premium cult wineries in Napa and Sonoma.

An elegant two-bedroom vacation rental “The Roost” is perched above the winery and is available for use by members on non-event days for a fee. During crush, press, barrel tasting, bottling and other events, members will enjoy panoramic views from the winery grounds.
